Dear friends,

It shall come to pass in the day the Lord gives you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear and the hard bondage in which you were made to serve, that you will take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say:…(Isaiah 14:3-4). When do we enter a place of rest? Only after the work has been done. In ‘the day’, 2000 years ago at the mighty Cross, Jesus arranged these rest from our sorrows and created a place of safety against the enemy and his hard bondage. The work has been done!

And have a look what happened at Calvary to the enemy: The mighty man has been destroyed. Yes, your insolence is ended. For the Lord has crushed your wicked power and broken your evil rule. Since you have been cut down, no one will come now to cut us down! In the place of the dead there is excitement over your arrival. The spirits of world leaders and mighty kings long dead stand up to see you. With one voice they all cry out, ‘Now you are as weak as we are! Your might and power were buried with you. How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world. You will be brought down to the place of the dead, down to its lowest depths. Everyone there will stare at you and ask, ‘Can this be the one who shook the earth and made the kingdoms of the world tremble? Is this the one who destroyed the world and made it into a wasteland? Is this the king who demolished the world’s greatest cities and had no mercy on his prisoners?’ (Isaiah 14).

The first generation of Israelites who where led out of Egypt failed to enter the promised land, the place of rest during their walk on earth. While still God’s own children they had to wait after their death to enter this place of rest. Why? The people refused to enter the pleasant land, for they wouldn’t believe His promise to care for them (Psalm 106:24).

God’s promise of entering His rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God. For only we who believe can enter His rest. We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: On the seventh day God rested from all His work. So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. So God set another time for entering His rest, and that time is today. So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. For the word of God is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4).

Apparently it is possible to be a reborn Christian with the promise of eternal life in the world to come and at the same time you are missing the benefits of that what Christ arranged for you in addition at the mighty cross already for this very life. The enemy has been defeated, so trust Him, not only for your salvation which is hundred percent by grace, but shoulder your cross and built on the foundation Jesus the Christ with your works (1 Corinthians 3:11-15) and enter this place of rest in this very life. The adventure of the Kingdom of heaven on planet earth!  Enter into the maturity of the Kingdom life, already here on earth and experience, explore, apply, practice, and enjoy living with the benefits, promises, and privileges of Heaven on earth. Let the adventure begin!

Yes, Jesus replied,  and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God, will be repaid many times over in this life, and will have eternal life in the world to come (Luke 18:29-30). Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). Read more >>>>
